Cancellation Policy

If you find you must cancel your reservation with us, we will need to know one week (7 days) in advance of your arrival date. We will do our best to rebook your room. If, however, we are unable to rebook your room, you will be charged one night’s room rate or 50% of your stay at the full rate, whichever is more.

No-shows will be charged the entire stay at the full rate. We do not ‘overbook’ rooms; when you have a confirmed reservation with us, your room is held for you personally, thus we must charge for the room if you fail to arrive as scheduled. Please consider travel insurance if your plans are uncertain.

Reservations booked with third-party sites like, but not limited to, Booking.com, Priceline, Expedia, or Tripadvisor will need to be canceled through those sites and must adhere to the third-party cancelation policy set forth by those entities. Candlebay Inn has no control over third-party sites’ policies.

Policies for Visiting Dogs

We at the Candlebay Inn want to welcome all family members, and that includes the family dog! In order to include the family dog and to ensure our other guests are also comfortable, we need to set down a few rules for visiting dogs and their owners.

All visiting dogs must be well-behaved. That means no continuous barking should they be left alone in the room, must be housebroken, and have a friendly manner. Please no territorial dogs that may fight with other dogs or snap at other guests. Also, please respect the furniture and inn. This means no sleeping on beds with their humans is preferred.

We also have leashes, food and water bowls, plus pet waste bags available at no extra charge to you for the duration of your stay!

Please pick up after your pet! There are trash bins in the back of the Inn for you to make your dog’s deposits in. We’ll handle it from there. Please control your dog at all times. Not all people are friendly towards dogs, although most guests are.

If possible, please leave your dog in your room during breakfast. Again, this is not a hard and fast rule. If there are no other or very few guests in the Inn (and the other guests do not object), they may come into the Common Room during breakfast but must be on a leash or they must be able to sit and stay at your command. If we are really busy that morning, it is probably best that they stay in your room.

There is a $20.00 cleaning fee for dogs. This is a one-time charge and is per visit. Maximum of two dogs per room. Five dollars of this fee is donated to a local animal shelter. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call.
